Joe Esposito is a partner in the Washington office of Hunton & Williams LLP. After federal trial and appellate clerkships, he has practiced complex business litigation for 36 years. His trial experience includes a patent infringement jury trial, a customs fraud jury trial in the Court of International Trade, and an employment discrimination jury trial, in addition to trials involving antitrust, corporate tax, tortious interference, contract, and fiduciary duty claims.
He is a member of the American Law Institute. Joe has been recognized by Chambers USA for Litigation (Band 3): General Commercial (District of Columbia) for 2010 - 2015. He has also been named to Super Lawyers Washington DC for 2014 - 2016.
Joe has served as an Adjunct Professor at the George Mason University School of Law, as well as on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
He is the Advocacy Vice-Chair of the Mediation Committee of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. Joe received mediation training at the Center for Dispute Settlement.
Joe is the former co-chair of the Antitrust Litigation Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation, and former co-chair of the Section’s Intellectual Property Litigation Committee Patent Subcommittee. He also served on the Section’s Federal Practice Task Force and as an Associate Editor of Litigation News.
He received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law, where he served on the Annual Survey of American Law.
