Effective October 1, 2019, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will no longer automatically consider weather-related closures as legal holidays for purposes of Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 26.  The full notice, including the new procedure for handling deadlines for electronic and paper filings, is available on the court’s website.

Beginning July 15, 2019, the Clerk’s Office has updated and expanded its automated public phone menu system and options.  Callers to the main Clerk’s Office phone number (202-275-8000) will hear new messages and prompts incorporating recent changes to information on our website.  These changes will provide additional public information and allow for the faster and more accurate routing of calls to Clerk’s Office staff.  The full list of contact information for the Clerk’s Office is available on our website.

The Clerk's Office will resume normal operations and public services in the National Courts Building at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) today. Electronic filing remains available without interruption.  This message was updated at 11:50 a.m. on April 23, 2019.

As of 9:30 a.m. on April 23, 2019, the Clerk’s Office public phone and counter services are unavailable due to the temporary closure of the National Courts Building in Washington, D.C.   Electronic filing remains available.  We will provide an update as soon as service is restored. 

Effective April 8, 2019, the court will begin notifying counsel which, if any, conflict dates are accepted as scheduling conflicts for oral argument.  The full notice is available online.
