On May 15, 2008, the Federal Circuit held its Judicial Conference at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Chief Justice Roberts, the court's circuit justice, attended and Solicitor General Paul Clement was the luncheon speaker.

Judge Timothy Dyk will be the keynote speaker at the NYIPLA's 24th Annual Joint Patent Practice Seminar on April 30, 2008 in New York City. Information about the NYIPLA can be found at this link.

Judges and mediation staff of the court will participate in the ABA's Section of Intellectual Property 23rd Annual Conference set to take place from April 10 to 12, 2008 in Arlington, Virginia. On Thursday, April 10, 2008, Chief Judge Paul Michel will participate in a panel discussion titled "What Patent Reform Really Means for You" and Judge Pauline Newman will speak at a panel discussion titled "Are the Supreme Court and Federal Circuit on the Same Page for Patent Law?" The Chief Judge will also give the luncheon address on Thursday, April 10, 2008. He will discuss concerns from the bench on pending patent reform legislation. Also on Thursday, April 10, 2008, Judge Richard Linn will participate in a panel discussion titled "2021: A Patent Odyssey - Where Will Patent Reform Ultimately Take Us." Chief Judge Michel will also participate in the patent law panel of the session titled "Breaking News - Hot Topics in Copyright, Trademark and Patent Law" on Saturday, April 12, 2008. On Friday, April 11, 2008, Chief Circuit Mediator James Amend and Circuit Mediation Officer Wendy Dean will present a program on the court's mediation program. Judge Arthur Gajarsa and Judge Kimberly Moore will participate in The Georgetown University Law Center Conference on The Changing Patent Landscape on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Judge Gajarsa will give the luncheon address. Judge Moore will participate in a panel discussion titled "The Supreme Court Returns to Patent Law." Program details can be found at this link.
