The Court is scheduled to hear arguments on Monday, March 12, 2018. In the event of inclement weather impacting the National Capital Region on Monday, March 12, 2018, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will follow the Office of Personnel Management’s operating status in the event of an OPM closure. In the event of an OPM delayed opening, counsel should check the Clerk’s Office telephone and online operating status message after 6:30 a.m. for additional information.

On February 28, 2018, the Clerk’s Office of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Federal Circuit Bar Association presented a webcast on the court’s implementation of NextGen CM/ECF. The webcast audio is available here, as well as the accompanying program materials and program slides.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will be closed on Friday, March 2, 2018, due to the inclement weather. For purposes of computation of time and for motions to enlarge time under Fed. R. App. Proc. 26 and Fed. Cir. R. 26, March 2, 2018, will be considered a "legal holiday." Telework-ready employees should follow their office's policies.

With less than one month until the Federal Circuit’s implementation of NextGen CM/ECF, electronic filers should be completing their preparations for transitioning to the new system. The full notice is available here. As part of the transition, electronic filing will be inaccessible between 12:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Friday, March 16, 2018, through Sunday, March 18, 2018. By court order, March 16, 2018 will be treated as a “legal holiday” for purposes of deadline calculation. The full order is available here.
