Federal Circuit Announces Proposed Change to Federal Circuit Rule 46(c); Comments Due by March 27, 2009
The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit proposes to amend Federal Circuit Rule 46(c) to increase the local fee for admission from $25.00 to $50.00. The Federal Circuit Bar Association and The George Washington University School of Law present “The Federal Circuit – The National Appellate Court Celebration and Introspective Symposium” on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Chief Judge Paul Michel, Senior Circuit Judge Daniel Friedman and Circuit Judge Randall Rader will join other notables from the bar and academia to reflect on the Circuit’s first twenty-seven years and discuss what lies ahead. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-CT), chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has been invited to give the luncheon address. A panel of past and present Solicitors General will present their views on the circuit’s complex subject matter jurisdiction. The day will conclude with views presented by a panel of scholars who have written and commented on the circuit, its work and role in the judiciary since 1982.
