Federal Circuit Judges to Participate in Bench & Bar Conference on June 25-26, 2008
Judges of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will participate in the 10th Annual Bench & Bar Conference sponsored by the Federal Circuit Bar Association from June 25 to 28, 2008 in Monterey, California. Programs that include Federal Circuit Judges are: on the 26th, remarks by Chief Judge Michel on the State of the Court and a description of the Circuit Mediation Program by Chief Circuit Mediator James A. Amend; on the 27th, Judge Moore moderates a panel discussion titled "Perspectives of Technology and Innovation: The Trial Courts' View", Chief Judge Michel and Judges Rader, Linn, and Prost participate in a panel discussion titled "Perspectives on Technology and Innovation: Thoughts from the Circuit Level", and Judges Newman and Mayer participate in a round table discussion titled "Circuit and Trial Dialogue".
Federal Circuit Announces Proposed Amendments to Its Internal Operating Procedures and a Public Comment Period on June 20, 2008
The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit issued a notice on June 20, 2008 announcing proposed amendments to its Internal Operating Procedures (IOP). The proposed IOPs are available here . Note that revised material is shown in green, stricken material is shown by strikethrough, and new material is underlined. These amendments are subject to public notice and comment under 28 U.S.C. § 2071(b). Those planning to submit comments on the proposed changes must follow the format set out in the "Format for Proposing Changes to Federal Circuit Rules & IOPs” available here . Public comments are due by July 18, 2008.
