Due to snowstorms, Chief Judge Paul Michel was prevented from traveling to Puerto Rico to deliver a scheduled speech to the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel on January 28, 200. The speech as prepared for delivery was, however, distributed to attendees at the annual meeting of ACPC. In anticipation of a new patent reform bill in the Senate and in response to the on-going FTC hearings, the speech concerns what adjustments in patent litigation may still need legislative intervention even after landmark decisions since the 2003 FTC report by the U.S. Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in view of new empirical information available.
Chief Judge Paul Michel and Circuit Judge Kimberly Moore will speak at the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel Meeting in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Judge Moore will speak on a panel titled “Reform of a Fast-moving Target: The Development of Patent Law Since the 2004 NAS Report” on Tuesday, January 27, 2009.
